Rotterdam

Congratulations! If you’re reading this text now, it means that you’re going to or have already moved to the largest port city in Europe. In comparison with other typical Dutch cities, Rotterdam will surprise you with sparkling skyscrapers, large food markets & fascinating festivals taking place throughout the year!

Rotterdam is a dynamic and modern city where every place can be included in the “must visit” list. Some of eye catching and mind blowing spots of Rotterdam are Markthal (first indoor food market in the country with about 100 fresh produce stalls, 15 food shops and diverse restaurants, including the one from Jamie Oliver!), Erasmusburg (a bridge with spectacular views of the historic Delfshaven, Hotel New York & the Netherlands Fotomuseum), Rotterdam cube houses (one should see these extraordinary pieces of architecture!), and Maritime Museum (located very close to cube houses, it is one of the largest maritime museums with a wide collection cartography & maritime art). To find out other interesting places in Rotterdam, check out Rotterdam Tourist Information website. To get a free access to more than 400 museums in the Netherlands, you can purchase a museum card. For more information about advantages of it and purchase instructions, use the link: Dutch museums.

In order to navigate within a city, you can easily use various types of public transportation. To get train, bus or metro tickets at a lower price, we advise you to get an OV chipkaart which can be used for every type of transport. You can get an anonymous OV chipkaart for free in supermarkets such as Jumbo. To order a personal OV chipkaart, check out the link: OV chipkaart order online. One of the most convenient apps for all types of public transposition is 9292. For android, use the link: 9292 for android. For IOS, use the link: 9292 for IOS.

Coming to the Netherlands, you should keep in mind that there are very strict rules regarding disposal of garbage.
